BANGALORE VS. RAJASTHAN: INDIAN T20 LEAGUE 2021, MATCH 16 | PREDICTION AND FANTASY CRICKET TIPS

In match 16 of the Indian T20 League 2021, Bangalore take on 2008 winners Rajasthan at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

Bangalore are having their best start in the league's history so far, winning all the three matches they have played this season. The core of the side looks settled and the team will be high on morale and confidence after their good performance in the last few matches. Maxwell and De Villiers have been outstanding on a tough Chennai pitch, whereas the openers Kohli and Padikkal are yet to make a big score. The pace department of Harshal Patel, Siraj and Jamieson have been very impressive in the previous matches. While the team is yet to play a game in Mumbai, the conditions will perfectly suit their powerful batting line-up.

Rajasthan started the season with two thrilling finishes, winning one match and losing the other. However, they suffered a big defeat against Chennai in the last game. Despite some key performances in the last three games, the consistency is lacking from players like Sanju Sansom, Buttler, Miller and Morris. English batsman Liam Livingstone has returned home due to bubble fatigue. The team will look to make a comeback in this match and take advantage of the fact that Bangalore will play their first game here.

Bangalore have an edge over Rajasthan here with a more settled team and the momentum on their side. With 2 crucial points up for grabs, expect a cracking game of T20 cricket at the Wankhede on Thursday.

Weather and Pitch Report

Mumbai is expected to have clear weather during the match. The temperature will be around 30 degrees during the game.

The pitch at the Wankhede Stadium is generally very batting-friendly. Batsmen can trust the bounce and play through the line of the ball easily. The small dimensions of the ground also favor the batsmen, resulting in high-scoring games. Pace bowlers will get some early movement and extra bounce. There will be not much spin from the surface here.

Keeping in mind the dew factor, both captains will look to chase on winning the toss. The results of the last five matches also favor the side batting second. A first-innings score of around 190 runs should be a competitive one.

Top Fantasy Picks

  • V Kolhi has not lived up to his high standards of batting in the tournament so far. He has made scores of 5, 33 and 33 in the three games played, failing to convert the good starts in the first two matches. He scored 3 half centuries in the recent 5-match series against England.
  • G Maxwell is the second-highest run scorer in the tournament, with 176 runs at a strike rate of 149.15. He has looked very assured at the crease and has scored 2 half centuries in his last two games. He will look to continue his good form here.
  • H Patel is the leading wicket taker in the tournament, with 9 wickets at an average of 7.66 and an excellent economy rate of 5.75. His best figures of 5/27 came in the first match against Mumbai. Expect him to pick up more wickets here.
  • J Buttler played a lone hand of 49 runs in the last match against Chennai. He looked in great knick before getting dismissed by Jadeja. In three matches, he has made 76 runs at a strike rate of 138.18. As an opener, Buttler averages over 45 with a strike rate of more than 150.
  • S Samson has struggled with consistency in the tournament but can be lethal on his day. After his brilliant 119 against Punjab in the first match, he has scored just 5 runs in the last two matches. As captain, he will look to lead the team from the front and play a big innings here.
  • C Morris has been a good recruit for Rajasthan so far. Although he failed to contribute with the bat in the last game, he picked up key wickets with the ball. He has taken 5 wickets in the three matches played so far. His best figures of 2/33 came in the last match against Chennai.
