CHELSEA VS. LEICESTER CITY: PREMIER LEAGUE | MATCH PREDICTION AND FANTASY FOOTBALL TIPS

For the second time in five days, Chelsea take on Leicester City in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

Both teams are looking to increase their chances of finishing in the top four of the points table to qualify for next season's Champions League. Currently, they are 3rd and 4th in the points table, with Liverpool lurking behind to take advantage of any slip-ups from either team.

Having missed the opportunity to move back above Leicester into third place in the table after losing 1-0 to Arsenal on Wednesday, the subsequent FA Cup final defeat on Saturday means that this has been Tuchel's most testing week since taking charge of Chelsea in January. He will be demanding a major response from his players against the Foxes, with only a win ensuring that a top-four position will remain in their own hands heading into the final day's trip to Aston Villa.

After celebrating their club's maiden FA Cup triumph, Leicester must turn their attention quickly to get over the line in terms of securing their qualification for next season's Champions League. Brendan Rodgers's side was in a similar position last season, having held onto a top-four position for the vast majority of the campaign, before falling out in the final hurdle. He will want to make sure that does not happen here again.

It will be the 120th meeting between Chelsea and Leicester in all competitions, with the Blues boasting 57 wins as compared to the Foxes' 28. 34 games have ended in a draw. The last five meetings have Leicester winning 2, Chelsea 1, and 2 games ending in draws.

Both the teams clashed at Wembley in the FA Cup final on Saturday, a match that saw Leicester triumph 1-0 and lift the famous cup for the first time in their history. Leicester also beat Chelsea 2-0 earlier in the Premier League, in what was the final match of Frank Lampard as Chelsea’s head coach.

Match Prediction

It is likely to be a similar cagey, low-scoring affair like the FA Cup final, with both sides prioritizing stability in defense. Scoring first will be crucial here.

Expect Chelsea to take revenge after the loss on Saturday, with the Foxes likely to be lacking the same intensity that they produced at Wembley, despite the high stakes riding on this fixture, too.
