Orange Cap, also known as the Aramco Orange Cap, is presented to an IPL player who leads the leaderboard as the batter who scored the most runs in the IPL season. This award was introduced in 2008, soon after the inauguration of the IPL. The batsman with the highest run tally wears the Orange Cap while fielding during the tournament. At the end of the season, the batsman with the overall highest runs receives the actual Orange Cap trophy.

IPL 2025 Orange Cap Winner - B Sai Sudharsan (Gujarat Titans)

Sai Sudharsan clinched the Orange Cap after a sensational season with the Gujarat Titans. It was the consistent brilliance of GT’s top three that fueled their playoff charge, with Sudharsan leading the pack alongside skipper Shubman Gill and T20 legend Jos Buttler. At 23 years and 231 days, Sudharsan also became the youngest to win the honour, eclipsing his teammate Shubman Gill, who was 23 years and 263 days old when he claimed the prize in 2023.

IPL 2024 Orange Cap Winner - Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

Virat Kohli was the major factor in Bangalore reaching the playoffs in 2024. Gill scored 741 runs at a strike rate of 154.69. He scored 1 century and 5 half centuries. Kohli hit a record 38 sixes in the season, his personal best in IPL. Bangalore lost to Rajasthan in the Eliminator. Virat Kohli is the 3rd player to win multiple Orange Caps after Chris Gayle and David Warner.  

IPL 2023 Orange Cap Winner - Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans)

Shubman Gill was the major factor in Gujarat reaching the finals for the second consecutive year. Gill scored a massive 890 runs at an outstanding strike rate of 157.80. He scored 3 centuries and 4 half centuries. He is the third batter to cross the 800-run mark in one season after Virat Kohli in 2016 and Jos Buttler in 2022. In terms of runs scored in one season, he is only second behind Virat Kohli's 973 runs.

IPL 2022 Orange Cap Winner - Jos Buttler (Rajasthan Royals)

Jos Buttler was instrumental in Rajasthan reaching the final for the first time since 2008. Buttler scored a whopping 863 runs at a fantastic strike rate of 149.05. He scored 4 centuries and 4 half centuries. He is the second batter to cross the 800-run mark in one season after Virat Kohli, who achieved this feat in 2016.

IPL 2021 Orange Cap Winner- Ruturaj Gaikwad (Chennai Super Kings)

Ruturaj Gaikwad was the first uncapped Indian player to win the Orange Cap in the Indian T20 League. Playing for Team Chennai, Gaikwad surprised everyone with his consistent batting performance throughout the season. He made 635 runs in 16 matches at a strike rate of 136.26.
