Mohammed Shami became the first bowler from Gujarat to win the Purple Cap in IPL. He took 28 wickets at an average of 18.64, and played a big part in Gujarat reaching back-to-back finals. Shami broke the record of taking the most number of wickets (17) in the Powerplay overs in a single season.

Kagiso Rabada (Delhi): 2020 Winner

After narrowly missing out on the Purple Cap in 2019, Kagiso Rabada won it in the 2020 season.
