DELHI VS. BANGALORE: INDIAN T20 LEAGUE 2021, MATCH 22 | PREDICTION AND FANTASY CRICKET TIPS

In match 22 of the Indian T20 League 2021, Delhi take on Bangalore at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

Both the sides have won 4 games each out of the 5 matches played. Delhi won in the Super Over against Hyderabad in their last game and sit 2nd in the points table. On the other hand, Bangalore suffered their first loss of the season against Chennai and are currently placed 3rd.

Delhi nearly messed up in the final overs of the last game while defending, only to hold their nerves in the Super Over. Nonetheless, the side will be expecting a good start from the opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw here. The middle order has good strength with skipper Pant and Steven Smith making runs in the last game. Avesh Khan and Amit Mishra have been good with the ball and will want more from their premium wicket taker, Kagiso Rabada. Ravichandran Ashwin has chosen to withdraw from the tournament, which is a huge loss for the team and might bring some changes in the playing XI.

Bangalore came up as second best against Jadeja and one of the most complete performances in the history of the league. Kohli is yet to play one of his trademark knocks and will look to do it here with an in-form Devdutt Padikkal by his side. Runs will be expected from Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers after they missed out in the last game. Kyle Jamieson and Dan Christian will have to contribute down the order if need be. The bowling has generally been good from Siraj, Jamieson and Harshal except for the nightmare of a final over in the last game. It needs to continue against the strong batting order of Delhi.

With an incentive to go to the top in the points table, both teams will be looking for a win here. Expect a cracking game of T20 cricket at Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

Weather and Pitch Report

Ahmedabad is expected to have clear and warm weather during the match. The temperature will be around 40 degrees during the game.

As seen in the recent T20I series between India and England, the pitch at the Narendra Modi stadium is batting-friendly. Batsmen can trust the bounce and play through the line of the ball easily. Pace bowlers will get some early movement and extra bounce. Spinners will get help from the pitch mostly in the first innings.

Keeping in mind the dew factor, both captains will look to chase on winning the toss. The results of the last five matches also favor the side batting second. A first-innings score of around 180 runs should be a competitive one.

Top Fantasy Picks

  • Shikhar Dhawan is the current holder of the Orange Cap, with 259 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 142.3. He has been dismissed for a single-digit score only once and played a good innings of 28 runs on a difficult Chennai wicket in the last match.
  • Rishabh Pant was not at his fluent best in the last match against Hyderabad, scoring 37 runs off 27 balls. He will hope for a better wicket in Ahmedabad to display his full range of shots. He has made 125 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 131.57.
  • Avesh Khan is the second-highest wicket taker of the tournament, with 11 wickets at an average of 12.45 and an economy rate of 7.61. He has been impressive and taken wickets in each of the five matches played, with best figures of 3/32.
  • Devdutt Padikkal has found form after looking scratchy in the first few matches of the tournament. He continued from where he left off against Rajasthan and scored a quick-fire 34 against Chennai. In total, he has made 171 runs at a strike rate of 158.33 in four matches.
  • Glenn Maxwell is the highest run scorer for Bangalore in the tournament, with 198 runs at a strike rate of 148.87. The 23 in the last game was his lowest of the four innings he has played so far. He will look to score a big one here.
  • Harshal Patel is the leading wicket taker of the tournament, with 15 wickets at an average of 11.13 and an economy rate of 8. Although he picked up 3 key wickets in the last game, he was taken apart by Jadeja for 37 runs in one over. He will look to bounce back from that here.
