HYDERABAD VS. DELHI: INDIAN T20 LEAGUE 2021, MATCH 20 | MATCH PREDICTION AND FANTASY CRICKET TIPS

In match 20 of the Indian T20 League 2021, 2016 champions Hyderabad take on Delhi at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday evening.

Hyderabad finally ended their losing streak with a win in the previous match against Punjab. Warner, Bairstow and Kane Williamson make up a strong top-order and have scored runs in the previous game. The middle order has made very little contribution so far, which will be a point of worry for the team. With Bhuvaneshwar Kumar missing this match, Sidharth Kaul, Khaleel Ahmed and Sandeep Sharma will make up the pace department. Rashid Khan and Abhishek Sharma will share the spin duties after bowling well in the last match.

Delhi are having a good season with 3 wins out of their 4 matches and will be high on confidence after the win over Mumbai in their last match here. The batting charge is being led by Shikhar Dhawan, with help from the likes of Shaw and skipper Pant. There is a lot of experience in the middle order with the presence of Steve Smith and Marcus Stonis. The bowling has been good in the previous matches, with Avesh Khan, Kagiso Rabada and Amit Mishra all chipping in at crucial times.

With both teams evenly matched and fighting for the crucial 2 points, expect a cracking game of cricket at the Chidambaram Stadium to end the double-header Sunday.

Weather and Pitch Report

Chennai is expected to have clear and sunny weather during the match. The temperature will be around 32 degrees during the game.

As seen in the tournament so far, the pitch at the MA Chidambaram Stadium is slightly tilted in the favor of bowlers. Although there is not much movement for the pacers, the lengths have been key on this surface so far. The new ball will come onto the bat nicely and the batsmen will be most comfortable in that period. As the match progresses, scoring will get difficult as the ball starts gripping the surface more.

Given the record in the previous matches, expect the captain winning the toss to opt to bat first here. A first-innings score of around 170 runs should be a competitive one.

Top Fantasy Picks

  • David Warner has been consistent for Hyderabad at the top of the order, scoring 130 runs in four innings at an average of 32.5. He is yet to get a big innings in the tournament after looking threatening in the last three matches.
  • Jonny Bairstow is leading the scoring chart for Hyderabad this season, with 173 runs in four matches in tough conditions at a strike rate of 132. He has been dismissed below 15 only once so far and will look to continue his aggressive intent at the top.
  • Rashid Khan has been a little quiet and has not performed as consistently as he would have liked to in this season. He has taken 5 wickets in four matches and can turn out to be the most important bowler in these conditions.
  • Shikhar Dhawan is the current holder of the Orange Cap, with 231 runs in four matches at a strike rate of 148. He has been dismissed for a single-digit score only once, which came in the defeat against Rajasthan. He will look to give the team another solid start here.
  • Steve Smith has played two innings in the tournament so far, one of which was a solid contribution of 33 in the win against Mumbai. He is batting at No.3 and will look to play the role of a sheet anchor in difficult scoring conditions here.
  • Kagiso Rabada is yet to hit his wicket-taking form from the last season. He has taken 4 wickets in the three matches he has played at an average of 24.5. He will be key against the likes of Warner and Bairstow at the start of the innings.
