KARACHI KINGS VS. LAHORE QALANDARS: PAK T20 LEAGUE, FINAL | MATCH PREDICTION AND FANTASY CRICKET TIPS

In the final of the Pakistan T20 league 2020, Karachi Kings battles Lahore Qalandars at the Karachi National Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Karachi Kings were one of the best sides in the group stage and played like a top side in the Qualifier, winning in a thrilling Super Over. An all-round effort from the bowling unit and a sublime fifty from the brilliant B Azam took the team to their first final. They will be looking for a similar performance in this game as well.

On the other side, Lahore Qalandars are in superb form as they reached the final on the back of two consecutive wins. D Wiese was the star in both the matches with his all-round show. They have a strong bowling attack with an experienced batting unit. A strong show will be needed to challenge the might of the Karachi Kings in an all-important final.

Both the games earlier in the season were pretty one-sided with the margins of victory being 8 wickets and 10 wickets. In the first game, Qalandars chased down the target of 187 with relative ease. B Dunk was the man of the match for scoring 99* off just 40 balls. In the second game, it was S Khan’s time to shine as the Kings won by 10 wickets.

Whatever happens in the game, the fifth edition of the Pak T20 League will see a new tournament winner on Tuesday night.

Pitch & Weather Report

The weather is clear and there are no chances of rain during the final in Karachi. The temperature will drop down to the low 20s as the evening progresses.

The pitch at the National Stadium is a good batting wicket. Both the night games in the playoffs have seen scores over 170. Although there is enough movement available for the faster bowlers, batsmen have coped well and made good use of the friendly conditions.

The pitch is expected to play better in the second half of the match with dew coming down. Hence, the team winning the toss is expected to bowl first.

Key Players

  • B Azam is the top run-getter of the season, with 410 runs at an average of 51.25. He has scored four fifties and one century in his last five innings with the bat.
  • I Wasim is capable of contributing to both the departments of the game. He is very economical and picks up crucial wickets. Also, he is a handy lower-order batsman as was evident in the match against the Sultans.
  • M Amir bowled economically in the last game but was unable to pick up a wicket. He made up for that by defending 13 in the Super Over. He will be high on confidence after such a performance.
  • B Dunk has scored plenty of runs for the Qalandars this season. He has scored 289 runs at a strike rate of 175 with two fifties. His highest score of 99* is against Karachi only.
  • D Wiese has done brilliantly with both bat and ball in the two playoff games. 5 wickets and unbeaten 64 runs in 2 matches made sure they are one of the best two teams in the league this season.
  • S Afridi has picked up 17 wickets in the tournament so far at a strike rate of 15.2. He is in good form with the ball and has taken four wickets in the playoffs
