It was a good all-round performance from Team India as they emerged victorious in the 1st ODI by 67 runs. Openers R. Sharma and S. Gill scored fifties while V. Kohli completed his 45th ODI century. With the ball, pacers Siraj and Umran picked up 5 wickets between them. The team will be looking to win the series in Kolkata.
 

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, got off to a slow start chasing a huge total of 374 runs and lost early wickets. Only P. Nissanka and D. Shanaka, who scored his 2nd ODI century, held the Sri Lankan run chase. Most of the bowling attack looked flat and picked up wickets when the Indian batters looked to increase the scoring rate. K. Rajitha was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets.
