Australia T20 League 2023-24

The Australia T20 League is a multi-franchise T20 cricket league played during the Australian summer months by eight teams representing different regions of Australia. The premium men’s T20 league of the country started in 2011-12 and has completed ten seasons so far. It is one of the two T20 cricket leagues, alongside the Indian T20 League, included in the top ten domestic sports leagues in terms of average attendance.

Each state's capital city has one team in the league, except for Sydney and Melbourne, which have two teams each. Because of that, Melbourne Derby and Sydney Smash matches are some of the most attended matches. Out of the eight teams in the tournament, six have won the title at least once.

Australia T20 Bash League Format

Each team plays with each other twice in a home-and-away round-robin format in the group stage. After the group stage, the top five teams in the points table qualify for play-offs. The format for play-offs is slightly different from the direct knockout format.

This year’s edition will be the 12th season of the Australia T20 League, in which 61 matches will be played. The tournament is scheduled to start on 13th December 2022, and the final is scheduled for 4th February 2023.

Batter scores fantasy points on every run, and on hitting a boundary/six. There are additional points for high strike rates/making 50 or 100 and few others.
