Avesh Khan: The Rising Star
Born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Avesh Khan is one of the Indian cricket team’s emerging pace bowlers in all formats. He has made a remarkable impact at the domestic level and has all the ingredients to become a lethal pace bowler in the coming times. He is part of the India squad for the South Africa’s Tour of India 2022 T20 series.
Avesh made his red-ball debut for Madhya Pradesh against Railways during the 2014-15 Ranji season. He was also part of the 2014 under-19 World Cup team in the UAE but picked up only 1 wicket in the two games played. He came back strongly in the next under-19 World Cup and was the leader of the Indian pace attack. He returned as Team India’s highest wicket taker, with 12 wickets at an average of 15.08.
Initially picked by the Bangalore team for the Indian T20 League, the fast bowler played just one match for them in the 2017 season. Team Delhi bought him in the 2018 auction, where he spent the next three seasons with just eight matches under his belt. The 2021 edition was a breakthrough for him as he finished as Team Delhi’s highest wicket taker of the season and the second-highest wicket taker overall in the tournament with 24 wickets. He was then picked by Team Lucknow in 2022 mega auction for a massive fee of ₹10 crores, making him the most expensive uncapped player in the history of the league.
