Eden Gardens Cricket Stadium

Eden Gardens Stadium, also known as the Mecca of Indian Cricket, is a famous cricket stadium in Kolkata, West Bengal. It is the home ground of the Bengal Cricket Team and Team Kolkata of the Indian T20 League. Established in 1864, it is the oldest and second-largest cricket stadium in India. Eden Gardens is renowned for its large and passionate crowd, which gets vocal and creates “Colosseum” type atmosphere during the matches.

Famously, the 1996 Cricket World Cup India vs Sri Lanka semi-final was stopped due to riots in the stands (because of Team India playing poorly) and was eventually awarded to the visitors. In 2016, a bell was added to the stadium to ring in the start of day's play in Test and start of ODI & T20I matches.
