Harshal Patel – Key Skills and Strengths

Patel is known for using well-disguised cutters from wide of the crease. His bowling speed doesn’t touch the 140km/h mark. He makes up for that with his variations in bowling. He offers a wide range of deliveries ranging from slower bouncers to cutters and varieties of yorkers. He makes good use of the bowling crease often running the risk of cutting the return crease.

Even as a youngster, Patel loved playing with angles and was able to bowl outswingers on the fourth stump line. He continues to bring his skills to the international scene and can bowl inswingers equally well while going close to the stumps. He is a good death-overs bowler as well. He is a perfect fit for the T20 scene and has the potential to be a game changer.
