Nicholas Pooran - The Pocket Rocket
Nicholas Pooran first came into the international limelight after his exploits in the 2014 Under-19 World Cup for the West Indies. His score of 143 against Australia, the highest score in the tournament, caught everyone's attention. Pooran became the youngest player to be selected for the Caribbean T20 League. He smashed 54 off 24 balls on his debut, which included 6 sixes.
Nicholas Pooran made his T20I international debut against Pakistan in 2016 and his ODI debut in 2019 against England. He was West Indies' top scorer scoring 367 runs in nine matches at the 2019 Cricket World Cup. He captained the West Indies in the 2022 T20 World Cup. However, the team failed to qualify for the Super 12 round. After the World Cup, Pooran stepped down as the limited-overs captain of the West Indies team.
In 2017, Pooran was selected by Team Mumbai for the Indian T20 League. but did not play a single game. Team Punjab bought for the 2019 edition, where he stayed until 2021. However, the West Indian didn’t get an opportunity to play and was then purchased by Team Punjab for ₹4.2 crore. He played for Punjab from 2019-2021 and was bought by Team Hyderabad for ₹10.75 crores. The Lucknow Team ₹16 Cr ahead of the 2023 season.
