Australia's Ellyse Perry holds the record for the best bowling figures in Women’s Premier League history. Perry took 6 wickets and conceded just 15 runs against Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, on 12th March 2024.
The inaugural season of the WPL has seen mind-blowing bowling figures and performances. The bowlers have shown great skills to beat the batters and produced special spells to win the match for their respective teams.

As the 3rd season of the Women’s T20 league is underway from Friday, 14 February, let us look at the top bowling performances that have managed to enter the record books in this season.
1. Ellyse Perry: 6 wickets for 15 runs (Bangalore vs Mumbai, 2024)
Australia's pace all-rounder Ellyse Perry holds the record of best bowling figures in WPL history. Bowling first, Perry took 2 wickets each in her 2nd, 3rd and 4th over. She dismissed Sajana and Harmanpreet in her second over, Kerr and Amanjot in her 3rd over, and Vastrakar and Nat Sciver in her 4th over. Bangalore won the match by 7 wickets.
2. Marizanne Kapp: 5 wickets for 15 runs (Delhi vs Gujarat, 2023)
South African pace all-rounder Marizanne Kapp holds the record of best bowling figures in WPL history. Bowling first, Kapp opened the bowling and took all her 5 wickets in one spell of 4 overs. She dismissed Meghana in the opening over, took 2 more in her second over, and one each in her 3rd and 4th over. Gujarat could only score 105 runs and lost the match by 10 wickets.
3. Asha Sobhana: 5 wickets for 22 runs (Bangalore vs UP, 2024)
India’s Asha Sobhana registered the first 5-wicket haul of the 2024 WPL. Playing their opening match of the tournament against UP in front of the home crowd and defending 157 runs, Sobhana took 2 wickets in the 8th and 3 in the 17th over to turn the game in the home team’s favor. Bangalore won the match by 2 runs.
4. Tara Norris: 5 wickets for 29 runs (Delhi vs Bangalore, 2023)
On 5th March 2023, USA's Tara Norris registered the first 5-wicket haul in Women's T20 League history. Playing for Delhi against Bangalore, she took 5 wickets, conceding just 29 runs. Bangalore batters lost wickets, chasing 224 runs and eventually losing by 60 runs.
5. Kim Garth: 5 wickets for 36 runs (Gujarat vs UP, 2023)
Australia’s Kim Garth has the fourth-best bowling figures in WPL. On the same day, Tara Norris picked up her 5-for, and Garth did the same in the evening match. Defending 169 runs against UP, she took 5/36, including all the top 4 batters, including captain Healy and McGrath. But it was not enough as UP won by 3 wickets.
