BCCI announced India Men's 15-member squad for the 3-match T20I series against Bangladesh, to be played from 6 to 12 October 2024. Gwalior, Delhi and Hyderabad are the three venues for the series. The T20I squad does not feature the Test regulars who are part of the Test series.
Full-time T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav will lead the India team. Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Axar Patel, Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj and Khaleel Ahmed are left out from the T20 squad that toured Sri Lanka in July. Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana and Mayank Yadav have received his maiden T20I call-up.
Pacer Mayank Yadav made the headlines during the 2024 Indian Premier League season with his express pace and accuracy. Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy (last played a T20I in 2021) and wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma makes a return to the T20 team.
Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson will likely be the openers in the squad. Bishnoi and Chakaravarthy are the specialist spinners, while Arshdeep, Harshit, and Mayank are the three proper pacers. Hardik Pandya, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Shivam Dube are pace all-rounders.
