Last season’s Purple Cap winner Yuzvendra Chahal has 188 wickets to his name in the Indian T20 League. His bowling average of 21.70 and economy rate of 7.67 are impressive numbers in T20 cricket. The former Bangalore bowler took his first 5-wicket haul during the last year’s edition as Rajasthan beat Kolkata in a thrilling match.

2) Dwayne Bravo (Chennai): 183 wickets in 161 Matches

West Indian Dwayne Bravo, one of the most entertaining cricketers on a cricket field, is the second-highest wicket taker in the league. He has taken 183 wickets at an average of 23.82 and his best figures of 4/22 came against Punjab in 2016. Bravo’s main strength was his accurate yorkers and slower deliveries. He has played 10 seasons for Chennai, 3 for Mumbai and 2 for Gujarat.

3) Piyush Chawla (Mumbai): 180 wickets in 182 Matches

Piyush Chawla has picked up 180 wickets in the biggest T20 league in the world. Chawla has played for Punjab, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai but got most success with Team Kolkata. His best bowling performance is 4/17. He will be appearing for Mumbai team in the 2023 season and is their most experienced spinner.

4) Amit Mishra (Lucknow): 173 wickets in 161 Matches

One of the legends of the league, Amit Mishra has 173 wickets to his name in the league. Over the years, he has played for Delhi, Deccan and Hyderabad and will be appearing for Lucknow in the 2023 season. He has an economy rate of 7.36 and is making an impact for his new team instantly.

5) Ravichandran Ashwin (Rajasthan): 172 wickets in 198 Matches

Ravi Ashwin is fifth on the list of highest wicket takers in the IPL. He gained fame playing for the Chennai team and also helped them to multiple IPL trophies. Ashwin’s spin variations has troubled many batters over the years and helped him take 172 wickets at an average of 28.70. He is currently playing for the Rajasthan team.
