17 Mar 2024 Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets in the Final of the 2024 Women's Premier League at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Sunday. Sophie Molineux (RCBW) was the Player of the Match for her spell of 3/20. This is RCB's first WPL title.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the complete schedule of the second season of Women Premier League on 23 Jan 2024.

Start Date of Women Premier League (WPL) 2024 Season

The second season of the Women Premier League will start on 23rd February 2024, with a clash between last year's winners Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru 8 PM IST. The final is scheduled for 17th March 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

Format for the Women Premier League 2024

Five teams - Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Gujarat and UP will play each other twice in a round-robin format. At the end of the group stage, the team ranked 1st will go directly into the final. Teams ranked 2nd and 3rd will play the Eliminator to qualify for the final.

Venues for the WPL 2024 

The 2024 season of the Women Premier League will be played entirely in two cities - Bengaluru and Delhi. All the 22 matches will be held at two stadiums - M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (11) and Arun Jaitley Stadium (11).

The  second season of the WPL will have 5 teams. Three of the teams are bought by the owners of Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore of the Indian T20 League.

A total of 60 players were retained by the five teams before the auction. Auction for the second season took place on 9 December 2024 in Mumbai. 30 players were sold, 9 of which were overseas. Kathryn Bryce of Scotland is the only associate player bought.
