Kabaddi 2022 Auction : Full Squads, List of Sold and Unsold Players, All 12 Teams Complete Details
The Indian Kabaddi League 2022 auction ended on Saturday evening (August 6) after two days of action and strategy on the auction floor. While Day 1 was filled with record-breaking signings, it was much quieter on Day 2 of the auction in Mumbai.
Kabaddi Auction 2022 Categories
Domestic, overseas, and new young players were divided into four categories: Category A, B, C and D in this player auction. The players were further subdivided as ‘All-Rounders’, ‘Defenders’ and ‘Raiders’ within each category.
The total salary purse available to each franchisee for Season 9 is ₹4.4 crores. Apart from all the previous season players, the season 9 player pool also includes 24 players from top 2 teams of the Khelo India University Games 2021.
Kabaddi 2022 Auction 2022 Rules
The franchisees are allowed to retain up to 6 players under the Elite Retained Players category and up to 4 new young players.
On Day 1, players from category A and category B went under the hammer. On day 2, the same process was repeated with the category C, category D, and the unsold players from earlier rounds.
Kabaddi 2022 Auction 5 Most Expensive Buys
The teams went for the big names and star players on Day 1, and then made their strategies and bids according to their buys on Day 2, i.e. building around the star players they signed.
Pawan Sehrawat was the most expensive buy on Day 1, bought by the Tamil team for ₹2.26 crores followed by Vikash Kandola going to the Bengaluru team for ₹1.7 crores.
Amirhossein Bastami of Iran was the most expensive buy on Day 2, going to the Haryana team for ₹65.1 lakhs.
