The 2020 edition of the T20 Women’s world cup saw a positive start for the Indian tigresses registering a win over the mighty Australians who were the tournament favourites. After a dream run and a smooth sailing into the final, nerves got the better of the Indian women’s team as poor batting and fielding display by them led to Australia winning their 5th T20 World Cup title.

The Australian team led by M Lanning and well supported by match-winning performances by A Healy, M Schutt, B Mooney and many more, despite the setback in the opening match of the tournament against India, looked like the side to beat in this World Cup. Their finals opponents, India, also had a number of performances by Shafali V, Haramanpreet K, Poonam Y, etc. which were well appreciated by cricket lovers.
