HYDERABAD VS. BANGALORE: INDIAN T20 LEAGUE 2021, MATCH REPORT AND TOP PERFORMERS

In the sixth match of the 2021 Indian T20 League, Bangalore registered another comeback victory as they defeated Hyderabad by 6 runs in Chennai on Wednesday night. It was their first victory against Hyderabad after the twin losses they suffered in the last edition.

Put in to bat first, the top order of Bangalore collapsed and failed to make a big contribution. Devdutt Padikkal was removed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 11 and Shahbaz Ahmed was dismissed by Nadeem on 14 to leave the score at 47 for 2. After a small partnership, Holder picked a well-set Kohli on 33 and then Rashid removed AB De Villiers soon after that. The pressure increased as they also lost Sundar and Christian in quick succession. However, Maxwell finally got going and scored 22 runs in the 18th over. Bangalore finally ended up with 149 runs on the board. Rashid picked up 2 wickets for 18 and Holder grabbed 3 wickets for 30.

While chasing, Hyderabad lost Saha early as Siraj removed him on 1. Warner went on the attack and put on a big partnership along with Manish Pandey. Kyle Jamieson provided a big breakthrough with the wicket of Warner. In the 17th over, Shahbaz trapped Bairstow, Pandey, and Samad in one over to turn the match around. With 34 runs required off the last three overs. Hyderabad could not catch on and suffered their second consecutive defeat.
