It was an exciting and close Test series between India and Team South Africa, which the former lost by a 2-1 margin. Team India won the first Test in Centurion by 113 runs. However, South Africa made a brilliant comeback in the next two Tests at Johannesburg and Cape Town, winning both matches by a margin of 7 wickets.  

Both the teams now shift focus to the upcoming 3-match ODI series starting Wednesday, 19th January 2022. The first two ODIs will be played at Boland Park in Paarl on 19th and 21st January. The third and final match of the series will be played at Newlands Cricket Stadium in Cape Town on 23rd January. All the matches of the IND vs SA ODI series will be day games and have a start time of 2 PM IST.

The Indian squad will be led by KL Rahul in the ODI series as the new ODI skipper Rohit Sharma is not available to play due to fitness issues. Jasprit Bumrah has been named as the new vice captain. There have been two updates in the squad recently. Jayant Yadav has been named as the replacement for Washington Sundar, who recently tested positive for Covid-19, and Navdeep Saini has been added as cover for Mohammed Siraj, who picked up a hamstring injury during the second Test in Johannesburg. The Indian squad consists of 19 players.
